last day of august for another year
ahhh theres nothing like a good saturday night partay…. unfortunately i am skeptical to say the least about tonight’s. A couple of year twelves are having a wedding party, although they aren’t actually getting married and aren’t really much to do with each other. Freaky. I don’t know how or why i am going along, but last time i went to a year twelve party it was good fun. After all, lots of them can drive and bottle shop runs aren’t half as illegal. I’ll see you all tomorrow after the footy when PRAHRAN WILL BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF BEVERLY HILLS!

No commentsInto thin air
I’ve always been mesmerised by the mere sight of mountains, whether it be the hill in Punt road (about 5m tall) or the rare glimpses of the snowfields, or the books and photos of the hilalayans.
The Tibetan/Nepalic region has always been my personal favourite, for obvious height and beauty reasons. I think it may have something to do with the respect I have for the budhist faith as well. I’ve never thought about climbing Everest however. Maybe a trek to base camp, but I treasure my state of current mind and physical health too much to risk it on a 3 month trip to a freezing hell for 5 minutes of glory ontop of the world.
Anyway this particular image is one of my favourites of all time. It is a shot taken on the so called ‘Freindship’ highway which goes from Kathmandu in Nepal to Lhasa in Tibet. The strips of cloth in the foreground of the picture are prayer flags, set up by locals and tourists to pray for whatever, be it good weather or some luck in the bingo next week. I don’t actually think native Nepalese play bingo when they get old, but oh well. The giants of the Himalaya mountain range sit in the background, although neither peak looks remotely the size or shape of Everest or even K2. If you are for some strange reason enticed by the look of these beauties, look around for some more photos, or go to the library and borrow “Into thin air” By John Krakauer. It will certainly put you off wanting to climb everest if you should ever want to in the first place. It retells, firsthand the tragic 1996 climb which cost numerous lives.
The image blows below up to 1024×768, so its perfect for wallpaperiness. just click on the little pic for the big one. Wow I got through an almost serious post…..

must be an early night tonihgt, got an important match of tennis on tomorrow. Oh and school. *shudder*
No commentssunday BLOODY AWESOME SUNDAY!!!!
err im sure the song wasn’t meant to go like that (look at the title) but HOW GOOD IS IT????
The football god has smiled on me again, Carlton racked up our third win of the season (21st and 2nd last round) fina-fucking-ly over the Western Bulldogs last night (50 points up at quarter time and yet only won by 2 points) phew. More importantly, however IS THAT PRAHRAN UNDER 15′s ARE IN THE GRAND FINAL NEXT WEEK. My brothers side, but I was scorer for home matches and became mates with all the players, so I’m sort of an unofficial club person. We’ve come from being thrashed by 100+ points each week the year before last to thrashing the 2nd best team in the comp (and the team that beat us earlier in the season by 60 points) by 94 FUCKING POINTS in the preliminary final!!!!! Only problem is if we win next week and win the flag, I owe Andrew a slab of beer.
Otherwise life has been gradually coming back und control from the musical. My work load has been pretty big lately, and I racked up my first detention of the semester (5 weeks in!!! I made 5 weeks without a det!!!) on Friday for not doing my maths gayness on advanced logs and indices.
Egg.. im off, please someone beat me up if I don’t post as much as I used to, because I have to get back into the habit.

meh this weekend has been odd
sorting friends out, sorting myself out, thinking over love, watching myself like a hawk at the afterparty, its all too much. And add to that school for the next 5 weeks, HELL.
At least one thing in my life is stable, my bed. I think I might just retire to that kingdom of comfort right about… now.

I sing the body electric
I celebrate the me yet to come
I toast to my own reunion
When I become one with the sun
Well, its over. Saturday nights performance was AWESOME. The crowd wasn’t as good as Wednesday or Thursday nights, but we were so good. The cast made themselves proud, backstage made ourselves proud, the directors made the show so special. Wesley College musicals rock the house!
You know what it’s like
When you wake up in the mornin’ and it’s hard,
Standin’ up straight at attention
Like the changin’ of the guard?
Or how it is in a porno shop
When you put you quarter in the slot,
And you try to look cool
So nobody knows that you’re hot?
The afterparty was good fun too. Laughing at vomiting fools and guarding last drinks with my life. Ha twas fun. After the collapsing after the formal a couple of weeks ago, mum’s been all paranoid about me and drugs, so when I got home at 9:30am to go out with them that day to the footy, she was all like ‘Peter, how bout you eat, are you allright? You look PALE!!! Oh here have a drink, you sure you’re allright? Maybe you should go have a shower, but don’t make it too hot!’
Silly mother. Anyway its rather sad to see it go, i really enjoyed the musical.
We have arrived at a moment in our lives
When the future passes into out hands
We can find out, are we really strong enough
To fulfill what the future demands
Bring on tomorrow
Let it shine
Like the sun coming up on a beautiful day
It’s yours and mine
We can make a difference
It’s not too late
Bring on tomorrow
We can’t wait

2 commentsopening night sucess!
yay! backstage is in the house!
After a shocking final dress rehearsal, we made it! Flawless as far as backstage was concerned, the opening night nerves turned into the opening night brilliance. 1 down 4 to go.
The only real fuck ups during the night came from the fog man and the cast itself. The smoke machine didn’t turn on at all, and the dry ice fog machine went nuts and covered the whole stage up to head level in a thick blanket during a number. One girl, who plays Serena in the musical (3rd of 4th most important principle) missed a WHOLE SCENE. and not just any scene, one pivotal to the story. But oh well, we recovered for her pretty well.
Anyhoo, onwards with catch up sleep and onwards to a greater 2nd night.
